Myrtie Swilley, 98, of Valdosta, GA passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 in South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Jasper, Florida on October 22, 1914 to the late Gilford and Lizzie (Buckles) Padgett. She was a seamstress at Frieda’s Sewing Shop and attended Benevolence Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Swilley, and by a son, Stanley Shaw.
She is survived by: Sons & Daughters-in-Laws, James & Judy Shaw of Valdosta, GA; Lamar & Lucy Swilley of Barney, GA; Daughter, Faye Rogers of Danville, KY; Granddaughters, Brenda & Donnie Vaughn of Nashville, GA; Stephanie Swilley of Barney, GA; Theresa & Tony Williams of Barney, GA; Great Grandsons, Justin & Brittany Davis of Hahira, GA; Skylar Williamson of Valdosta, GA; Great Granddaughters, Damia, Traetyn, Karalana, Bowen Swilley, Mekenzie, Mekayla, Miranda, Toccoa, & Tanner Williams; Special Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 17, 2013 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Lake Park City Cemetery.
