Barbara Bennett

-- — Barbara Bennett  67 of Valdosta  passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at her daughter’s residence. She was born on Nov. 17, 1945 in Lowndes County to the late Guy and Mary Catherine (Beck) Carter. She worked for over 21 years at Mr. B’s IGA Grocery Store in Valdosta.  She loved working, cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Bennett was a loving and devoted mother to her pet Precious, her four children, and to Charles Bennett, her loving companion and the father of her children. She was also a member of Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland, Ga.

Her survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Janet Bennett of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Craig Wisenbaker of Valdosta; son and companion, Terry Bennett and Deanna Hardison of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lynn Bennett of Valdosta; grandchildren, Megan Bennett, Ceegee Bennett, Shelby Bennett, Christian Wisenbaker, Heather Wisenbaker Lawlor, Tristan Bennett, Carter Bennett, Ashton Dowdy, and Garrett Dowdy; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lawlor,  Haylee Padgett, Hayden Peavy, and Nattie Johnson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy (Bud) and Evelyn Carter of Valdosta; Tony and Michelle Carter of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Phillip Corbett of Valdosta; nieces and nephews,  Phil and Kelsey Corbett, Guy and Lori Carter, Jim and Rhonda Carter, Steve Carter, Christopher and Brittany Carter, and Brandon Carter.    

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in the Carter Cemetery in Echols County.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, March 16, 2013 at the funeral home.
