Angela Marie Cothran, 72, of Valdosta died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born in Spindale, N.C. to the late Olen Lawson Kendrick and Bonnie Marie Houser Kendrick and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Cothran was an active member and worker at Northside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Training Union, Girls in Action Programs, sang in the choir, played the piano and worked in the nursery.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Melonie and Jeff Youmans of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary and Rebekah Cothran of Gallatin, Tenn., Wade Cothran of Valdosta; two grandsons, Christopher and Chelsea Youmans of Norcross, Justin Youmans of Valdosta; her brother and sister-in-law, Boyce and Shirley Kendrick of Biloxi, Miss.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Lib Cothran of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jo and Jim Teeter of Concord, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Cothran and a sister, Denise Earney.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
