VALDOSTA —
Isom Ander Thornton, 69, of Echols County, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Langdale Hospice House.
He was born April 11, 1943, in Echols County, a son of the late Johnny and Eunice Walker Thornton. He loved people and enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by three sisters, Idona Thornton and Clara Pearl Thornton of Echols County, Nancy Thornton of Warner Robins; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Simpson; two brothers, Leonard Thornton Sr. and Marcus Thornton; three brothers-in-law, RJ Thornton, Albert Thornton Sr. and Willie Lee Thornton.
Funeral service for Mr. Thornton will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Sardis Baptist Church with Pastor Edgar Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 11 at his residence on Sardis Church Road.
