VALDOSTA —
Gladys Touchton, 85, of Lake Park, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare. She was born on Feb. 4, 1927 in Jupiter, Fla. to the late Edgar Young Johnston and Mary Ella Brogdon Johnston. Mrs. Touchton was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Deliverance Center in Jennings, Fla.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles and Sue Touchton of Ocala, Fla., Raymond and Susan Touchton and Iva and George Porter of Lake Park, three grandchildren and their spouses, Gayle and Maxie Williams, Charles N. and Tracy Touchton and Gina and Angelo Cox; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Grimsley of Avon Park, Fla. and Juanita Rogers of Lake Park. Mrs. Touchton is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rufus Lester Touchton, her infant son, her infant daughter, Eva, her granddaughter, Sherrye Touchton, her brother, Lamar Johnston and two sisters, Louise Grimsley and Frankie Rykard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with the Rev. Edgar Wood and the Rev. Maxie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
