VALDOSTA —
Alfred “Al” Allen, 42, of Lee, Fla., passed away early Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Al was born in Ft. Benning, Ga., and was a retired corrections officer and did taxidermy work on the side. Most recently, he worked part time at the Rajun Cajun in Lake Park. Al was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Allen.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Teressa Denmark Allen of Lee, Fla..; one daughter, McKayla Allen, Jasper, Fla..; his mother, Levera Allen, Valdosta; two brothers, Jimmy Allen (Delores), McDonough, Ga., and Jon Allen (Christy), Valdosta; two sisters, Susan Reiter (Keith), Valdosta, and Jan Knapp (Steven), Prairie Du Chien, Wis.; five nephews; four nieces; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews; mother-in-law, Janette Cowart, Jennings, Fla..; father-in-law, Walter Denmark (Christine), Valdosta; and sister-in-law, Cindy Lee, Jennings, Fla..; his canine companion, “Chloe.”
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Philadelphia Baptist Church in McAlpin, Fla. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. — Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
