VALDOSTA —
Willie Edwards French, of Valdosta, was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Cairo, Ga., to the late Clarence French and the late Rosa Lee Tyme French.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Keith French; and brother, Clarence French.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Mrs. Jerry M. French of Valdosta; seven sons, Willie E. French Jr. (Sonja) Palm Coast, Fla., Steven French (Angie) of Atlanta, Rodney French (Twalla) of Farming Hill, Mich., Clarence French (Annella) of Detroit, Mich., Jonny French (Pat), Laurice Melvin (Joreatha) and Stacey Evans of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Renee (Jerome) Sconiers of Warner Robins, Ga., Sonia French of Atlanta, Veronica Mabry (Henry) of Valdosta, and Barbara Jones (Johnny) of Valdosta; special grandson, Brett A. Brown Jr. (Keisha) of Ft. Rily, Kan., and a special granddaughter, Jerry Tall of Virginia Beach, Va., both of Valdosta; sister, Lillie Bell Chambers of Columbus, Ga.; sister-in-law, Bea French of Columbus, Ga.; a friend, Christine Williams of Columbus, Ga.; 34 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church. Dr. John Manning, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Harrington Rest Cemetery.
