Mrs. Venera Lucille “Near” Landrum Suggs, 79, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, peacefully at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Suggs was born March 5, 1931 in Branford, Fla., to the late Claude M. “Dock” Landrum and Lula Bell Hollingsworth Landrum. She lived most of her life in Clinch County but now resides inside the gates of Heaven. She owned and operated The Bee Hive Flowers for many years where she shared her talents of creating beautiful floral arrangements for all to enjoy. She was a longtime member of the New Vision Church of God where she spent many years teaching Sunday School and worshipping the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Suggs and one brother, Claude Milton Landrum Sr.
Survivors are two daughters and son-in-law Brenda and Louie Pittman and Betsy McCall, all of Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Sissy Suggs, Homerville; six grandchildren Matt and Lisa Pittman, Sean McCall, Denise and Scott Chesser, NaChelle Suggs, Anita Stalvey and Will and Desiree Suggs; eight great grandchildren, Slade Pittman, Gage Stalvey, Torie Chesser, Emily Chesser, Brady Suggs, Ivey Suggs, Ashlynn Smith and our little Alyssa Renee Suggs; and many other relatives and friends whom she cherished.
Services for Mrs. Suggs will be held Monday, July 19, 2010, at 1p.m. at the New Vision Church of God, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Officiating will be the Rev. David L. Vanoy and Rev. Jerry Baldree. The Internment will be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
