VALDOSTA — Nathan Rewis, 83, of Statenville, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at his home. Mr. Rewis was born at Halo, Ga., on April 15, 1929, to the late Joe and Ola Petty Rewis. Nathan was a forester and retired after 47 years from Champion International Paper Company.

He was predeceased in death by his wife, Jessie Lee Trueluck Rewis in 2006.

Mr. Rewis was also predeceased by his parents; three brothers, J.M., James and Walter Rewis; and one sister, Brunell Sutton.

Survivors include one son, Terry Rewis (Debbie) Statenville; two daughters, Janice Cantey, Statenville and Aline Crosby (Dan), Lake Park; two brothers, Glenn Rewis and Talmadge Rewis (Mary), Halo, Ga.; four sisters, Jonnie Bennett, Valdosta, Ga., Betty Jo Davis, Yulee, Fla., Ora Lee Rhoden (Buddy),      Jacksonville, Fla. and Shirley Bradford, Valdosta; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012, in Rewis Cemetery with the Rev. Chris McCain officiating.
