VALDOSTA —
Jacob Aaron “Jake” Williams, 17, of Hahira, died Friday, October 26, 2012 in Suwanee County, Fla. He was born on March 16, 1995 in Valdosta. Jake was a senior at Lowndes High School and attended Hahira United Methodist Church. He loved baseball, music, kayaking, hunting, playing guitar and making people laugh. Jake was an avid fisherman, was on the sporting clay team at Lowndes High School and was in the 4H club. He enjoyed working with handicapped children and worked with Special Olympics. Jake enjoyed many other aspects of the outdoors. He rode four wheelers and golf carts down by the river. He also enjoyed camping with the guys. Dirt bike riding was also a favorite sport. Jake loved his family and friends and spending time with them. This gentle giant has a heart as big as the ocean!
He is survived by his parents, Bubba and Dana Williams of Hahira, his brother, Brock Williams of Hahira, his maternal grandparents, John and Linda Day of Valdosta, his paternal grandparents, Jackie and Doug Moxley of Hahira, his aunts and uncles, Denise and Jimmy Yates, John and Tonya Day, Raymonda Van Luven, Ricky Atkinson, David Joiner and Sheryl Williams, special cousins, Jamie Yates, Colby Yates, Kaylon Day, Austin Day, Lindsey Day, Nikki Joiner Wynne (Brent), Matthew Joiner (Jessica), Tyra Sturdivan (Mark) and Tay Duran, special friends, Taylor Wilson, Grant Pirkle, T. J. & Taylor McCulloch, Justin Miley, Dylan Miley, Clay and Karlie Bozeman, Kyle & Kayla Griffin and many other good friends. Jake is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, A. J. Williams, Jr. and a special aunt, Perian Joiner.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at three p. m. at the Hahira United Methodist Church with Reverend Ken Morgan officiating. He will be placed in the church at two p. m. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Hahira on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hahira United Methodist Church Youth Ministry or Youth Missions, 100 East Stanfill Street, Hahira, GA 31632.
