Bernice Jacobs Guess, 84, of Valdosta died on Friday, March 19, 2010 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 28, 1925 to the late Lander and Amanda Cooper Jacobs. She was a homemaker and attended the Pentecostal Deliverance Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Griffin of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and LaVern Guess of Statenville; son, Tommy Guess of Jacksonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Gordon Bufford of Jacksonville, and Wanda and Frank Bohannon of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Leon Jacobs of Macon; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Guess.
Services for Bernice Guess will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Edgar Wood officiating. The committal will follow in the Hall Cemetery in Morven, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
