Ida Willene Jackson Purvis

-- — Ida Willene Jackson Purvis, 73, of Hahira and formerly of Chula died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at her home. She was born in Opp, Ala. on Sept. 17, 1938 to the late Homer and Esther Maddox Jackson. Mrs. Purvis was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Tifton and was retired from retail sales having been employed by Belk-Hudson’s, Bo’s and Neel’s.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Nancy Purvis; her granddaughter, Maggie Purvis all of Hahira; brother and sister-in-law, Morris and Linda Jackson of Ark.; sister, June Turner of Brooksville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Bobbie Sue Jackson of Lacoochee, Fla.; brother-in-law, Herman Purvis of Douglas, Ga.; special family, Ann Exum, Alli Exum Nix and Joshua Nix, Amy Exum Luke and Klay Luke, John-Klayton Luke, Barbara Jean McDonald, Ed and Jean Moore, Sid and Melanie Roberson, Roger and Mandy Mangham, Eddie and Marie Moore; special caretakers, Mary Louise Daniels, Erma Jean Wolf and Barbara Merwin. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Wright Purvis and two brothers, Hollis Jackson and Horace Jackson. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Hospice of South Georgia for the care given to Mrs. Purvis by their nurses and staff.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Klay Luke officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home, 401 S. Church St., Hahira, GA 31632.
