VALDOSTA —
Georgia Alene Staton Lynch, 67, of Morven died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at her home. She was born in Hahira on Sept. 9, 1945, to the late James Wilson and Leona Louise Lanning Staton and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Lynch was a member of the Morrison Baptist Church and enjoyed working with her flowers.
Survivors include her son, Mitchell Lynch of Unadilla, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Missy) and Chris Carter of Lake Park, stepdaughters; and stepson-in-law, Micki and Joe Wilkins of Forsyth, Sheri King of Woodstock; her grandchildren, Crystal Ashton Carter, Kelsey Danielle Carter, Meghan Sarah Lynch, Tyler Wakefield, Christopher Wakefield, Brett King and Chris King; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mona and Ed Powers of Morven, Millie Phelps of Hahira; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Staton of Morven, Everett and Fay Staton of Adel; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Lynch; and two sisters, Veda Dozier and Norma Jean Staton.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Billy Latham officiating. Entombment will follow in the McLane Riverview Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31602.
