Jimmy Raymond Jernigan

-- — Jimmy Raymond Jernigan, 70 of Nashville, Ga. passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 after a brief illness at Tift Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 7, 1942 to the late Thomas Franklin and Frances Iduma (Jones) Jernigan. He was a member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church. He retired from Amoco Fabrics in maintenance after 23 years. He then worked for Miller Brewing Company for 12 years and had to retire for health reasons. He is preceded in death by his parents along with two sisters, Bonnie Armentrout and Maydell Wilkerson and two brothers, James Jernigan and Jody Jernigan.

Survivors Include his wife of 50 years, Judy Jernigan of Nashville, Ga.; two daughters and son-in-law, Patty and Matt Webb, Nashville, Ga. Brandi Jernigan, Nashville, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Timmy and Angie Jernigan, Nashville, Ga., Dave and Angie Griffin  Pound, Va. six grandchildren: Kansas “Sugar Baby” Jernigan, Brittney Jernigan, Timothy Jernigan, Daniel Jernigan, Cody Griffin, and Kristy Griffin; great-grandson: Troy Pearson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Shivers, Valdosta, Linda and Dennis Ellis, Acworth, Ga.,  Geneva Stewart, Madison, Fla.; four brothers and sisters-in-law,   Robert and Mary Jernigan, Valdosta, Ga. Tommy and Mildred Jernigan, Rochelle, Ga., Charles and Vickie Jernigan, Lake Park, Ga. Gene and Barbara Jernigan, Piedmont, S.C.; extended family member, Cyndi Warren, Ocilla, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow at Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening, March 5, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. Music Funeral Services in Valdosta.
