Delores S. Oliver, 62, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on May 23, 1950 in Cairo to the late James Paul Sasser and Margaret McGuire Sasser Adair and had lived in Valdosta for the past 46 years. Mrs. Oliver was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and retired from K-Mart and Wal-Mart. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Oliver, two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle Oliver White and Michael White, Stephanie Oliver Sims and Joe Sims all of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Austin Sims, Thomas Sims, Josie Sims, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marlene and Tal Merriman, Rose Scarbrough, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robin and Sylvia Adair, Jim Sasser all of Sarasota, Fla.; special nieces and nephews that were like her children, Eric McGlennon of Australia, Renee McGlennon Stanton, Jessie McGlennon Maddox, Josh McGlennon all of Springfield, Ill.; numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Dene McGlennon.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
