Laurence J. Bell, 66, of Valdosta, Ga., passed this life suddenly Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Ga. He was born July 18, 1946 to the late John Olen, Jr. and Hazel Mary (Mitchell) Bell in Gary, Ind. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Weapon System Specialist, and also retired from Cracklin Goods after 14 years of service. He was a Baptist by faith, a member of the Cherry Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Bell was a master mason member of the Royal Palm Masonic Lodge # 100 and a member of the Mahi Shrine Temple in Miami, Fla. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Bell.
Survivors include wife Sue Bell, sons Jeffry and Kenneth Bell, all of Valdosta; two granddaughters Harleigh Ann and Savannah Bell; sister-in-law Mickie Bell of Byron, Ga.; sister-in-law Gloria Norris of Warner Robbins, Ga.; three nephews Shawn and John Bell and Michael McDonough; and niece Michelle McDonough.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 in the Cherry Creek Baptist Church at 3290 Skipper Bridge Road, Valdosta, Ga. 31605. The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 from noon until service time.
