Mrs. Margaret Sumner Hendley, 61 of Adel, Georgia passed away November 17, 2012 at the home of her sister. Mrs. Hendley was born May 1, 1951 in Hahira, Georgia to the late George Washington and Bessie Wood Sumner. She lived most of her life in Cook County and was a retired Deputy Clerk with the Cook County Clerk of Court. Mrs. Hendley was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church. She was the widow of the late Ralph Emory “R.E.” Hendley, Jr.
She is survived by one son, Joey Hendley; son-in-law, Pastor Junior Dees; four grandchildren: Amanda Dees, John David Dees, Bethany Hendley and Hannah Hendley all of Adel; two brothers, Roger Sumner of Waycross, Georgia and Robert Sumner of Birmingham, Alabama; five sisters: Shirley Hines of Adel,
Peggy Hooker of Birmingham, Alabama; Judy Meadows of Memphis, Tennessee; Marsha Daughtrey of Valdosta, Georgia and Teresa Sumner of Warner Robins, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Cornerstone Christian Church with Pastor Junior Dees and Rev. Roger Sumner officiating. Interment will follow at the Fellowship Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. Adel, Georgia.
