Mae Wright Adams

VALDOSTA — Mae Wright Adams, 85, of Adel, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at Memorial Hospital of Adel. Mrs. Adams was born in Shelby, N.C., to the late Coran Clyde Wright and Ethel Palmer Wright. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Adel for 60 years, a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class and a homemaker. She was very active in her church and had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior. Her gift was giving from the heart to family and friends and never expecting anything in return. She was a true caregiver. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and loved sharing her love of flowers with them.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Atys Weldon Adams; two brothers; and one sister; and her parents.  

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Wayne Cato of Matthews, N.C.; her grandchildren, Lara and Jason Burnette of Monroe, N.C.; Nicole and Michael Ladogana of Round Rock, Texas; a great-grandson, Noah Burnette; and two great-granddaughters, Emma Burnette and Sofia Ladogana; one brother and sister-in-law, Hal and Shirley Wright of Norfolk, Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Ben Adams of Winter Haven, Fla.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Adel with Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. in Northview Cemetery in Dublin, Ga. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity in her memory.
