Peter Brockington, 46, of 36 Tilden Avenue, Lakeland, Ga., went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center following a long illness. He was born on June 23, 1965 in Lakeland, Ga. to the late Mack Neloms and Janie Woods. He received his education in the Lanier County School system and was employed for many years with the City of Lakeland and Bi-State Roofing. Peter was a faithful and loyal member of Evans Temple where he served under the leadership of Pastor Owens Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Angela Brockington; two daughters, Shanise and Leslie Brockington; two sons, Brandon Henry and Antonio Brockington, all of Lakeland, Ga.; a loving mother, Janie Woods of Waycross; step father, Lorenzo Woods (Georgia) of Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Lora Scott (Nathaniel), Angela Martin (Walter), Resas Neloms and Shauna Maxwell, all of Philadelphia, Pa., four brothers, Bryant Woods and Derek Woods, both of Waycross, Quainton Neloms (Laverne), and Mike Neloms, Bonnie, both of Valdosta; mother-in-law, Linda McFadden (Lamar) of Valdosta; father-in-law, Artist Robinson (Lee) of Tampa, Fla.; a special brother-in-law, Anthony Robinson (Michelle) a special uncle, Elder Quainton Neloms (Irene); close cousins, Darlene Core, John Norwood, Wayne Brockington, Paul and Doll Brockington, and Ben and Carrie Carter; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and loving friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland, Ga. Pastor Austin DeLoach is Pastor and Pastor Lewis Clark will officiate. Burial will follow in Charles Knight Cemetery. — Final rites are entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home.
