VALDOSTA —
Joan Webb Harris, 73, of Hahira, Ga., joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at 11:10 a.m. at South Georgia Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family and Pastor Ken Morgan as she was called home. Joan was born on Aug. 6, 1939, to the late Osborne Eugene “Gene” Webb and Ibera Passmore Webb and lived her entire life in Hahira. She was the older of two children and throughout her life remained very close to her beloved, younger brother, Jack.
Joan graduated from Hahira High School in 1957, and attended nursing school at Grady Memorial Hospital, graduating with her RN degree in 1960. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Smith Hospital in Hahira until returning to nursing school to earn her CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Joan worked for Anesthesia Associates of Valdosta at South Georgia Medical Center and retired after 32 years of service.
Her mother, Ibera Passmore Webb, preceded her in death in 1973, and her father, Osborne Eugene “Gene” Webb preceded her in death in 1999.
Joan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Rogers Graham and Laura Slaughter Graham; two beloved grandchildren, Madeline Bennett Graham, William Webb Graham; her beloved brother, Osborne Eugene “Jack” Webb, Jr., all of Hahira. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Hahira United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home, 401 S. Church St., Hahira, Ga. 31632.
