VALDOSTA —
Ilia Reba Morgan, 86, affectionately known as “Ma’s” to her family and those who loved her well enough to call her by this name, passed away Jan. 9, 2013, at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She lived in Naylor, Ga., most of her life and was born to the late Henry Eugene and Annie Lizzie Dupree Cone Dec. 31, 1926, in Thomas County, Ga. She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Jack Morgan Jr., Larry Morgan, Robert Morgan; and a daughter, Jean Schroer.
Survivors are her husband of 70 years, Jack C. Morgan Sr., Naylor, Ga.; daughters and son-in-Law, Roxanne and James Stith, Stockton, Ga., Brenda Birdsong, Lakeland, Ga.; son, Jerry Morgan, Newport, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Tiffany Green shared her special compassion to her grandmother by being her caregiver during the latter days of her life.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services of Lakeland with burial in Good Hope Cemetery in Naylor.
