VALDOSTA —
Verne Benefield, 64, of Nashville, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Lowndes County. He was a self-employed tree surgeon with Verne’s Tree Service and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Jennette Powell Benefield of Nashville; and a stepson, Randall Gaskins.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Empire Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
