VALDOSTA —
Voncile Allen Carter, 80, of Naylor, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 30, 1932, in Withers, Ga., to the late Brooks and Flonnie Stone Allen and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Carter was retired from South Georgia Medical Center as a financial clerk, was a loving mother and homemaker. Mrs. Carter was a faithful member of the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church for 56 years.
Survivors include her children, Allen and Jennifer Carter of Naylor, Debbie Carter Anderson of Valdosta, Donna and Terry Snellgrove of Lake Park; five grandchildren, Seth Hodge, Tyler and AnnElise Snellgrove, Sayward Snellgrove Gibbs, Austen Carter and Cameron Carter; great-grandchildren, Tayten Snellgrove, Mackenzie Snellgrove, Kenley Gibbs; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald Allen of Naylor, Randy and Sherry Allen of Thomasville; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Glenn Parrott of Quitman; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond (Bud) Carter; and a sister, Tootsie Allen Grant.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dwight Marshall, Elder Bob Dickerson and Elder Lynwood Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Linda Parrott, 208 N. Quincy St., Quitman, GA 31643.
