Doreatha Hart Woods age 92, the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Savannah Epps Hart. She was born on Dec. 7, 1920 in Lowndes County, Ga. She departed this life on Jan. 21, 2013.
She was educated in the Lowndes County Public School System. She was a loyal and faithful member of Second Oak Grove Baptist Church where she served on many committees and was an usher for many years. She was proceeded in death by her husband (2008), five brothers and eight sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Willie C. (Patricia) of Valdosta; two daughters, Loretha of Valdosta, and Doreatha (Lonnie) of Albion, Pa.; one grandson; three granddaughters; four great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and six great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Finnie C. of Valdosta; one sister-in-law, Lula C. of Valdosta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special thanks to the staff of Grace Hospice, her nurse Tracy Kinnebrew and April Hunter her CNA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Second Oak Grove Baptist Church located at 5922 Clyattville-Nankin Road. The Rev. Leroy Henderson is the pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in the Forrest Grove Cemetery. Public viewing will be held this evening from 2-7 p.m. at Union Cathedral church located at 1050 East Hill Ave. — McCrae & Godfrey Mortuary.
