VALDOSTA —
Mr. Charles Wayne Blanton, 68, of Adel, GA passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Smith Northview Hospital. He was born June 2, 1944 in Nashville, GA to the late Austin Neal Blanton and Edith Jeanette Lord Blanton. Mr. Blanton was a member of First Assembley of God in Adel, a cabinet maker, and building and zoning inspector for Cook and Berrien Counties.
Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife, Sue Davis Blanton of Adel; a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jerri Blanton of Rocky Mount, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Phillip Turner of Nashville, GA; four grandchildren, Austin Turner and Lauren Turner, both of Nashville, GA, and Amanda Blanton and Thomas Blanton, both of Rocky Mount, NC; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Doyle Blanton of Hilliard, FL, and Roger and Tanetta Blanton of Douglas, GA; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Earl Smith of Nashville, GA, Sue and Eddie Van Zant of Hilliard, FL, Ann and Duren Bailey of Douglas, GA, Luneal and Homer Harper of Nashville, GA, and Faye and Lamar Jones of Nashville, GA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Blanton.
Mr. Blanton's family will receive friends Monday evening, February 4, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, GA.
The funeral service will take place Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2 PM at The First Assembly of God in Adel with Rev. Chris Newbern and Rev. Jerry Jett officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The National Kidney Fund.
