Charles Wiley Cheatwood

-- — Mr. Charles Wiley Cheatwood, 83, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Cheatwood was born Feb. 27, 1929, in Kathleen, Fla., to the late Marvin Cheatwood and Julia Ann Green Cheatwood. He was a retired from the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, was a POW and a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars. He was a master mechanic for the City of Jasper, Fla. and Hamilton County, Fla. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Evelyn Cheatwood and his second wife: Emma J. Cheatwood.

Survivors are four daughters, Linda and DeWayne Edwards, Plant City, FL. Darlene and Gene Higginbotham, Old Town, Fla., Katie and Mack McClaine, DuPont, Ga., and Denise and Frank Hensley, Jasper, Fla.; three sons: Roy and Kathy Cheatwood, Lakeland, Fla., Jerry Singletary, Lakeland, Ga. and Joe and Kathy Singletary, Jasper, Fla.; three sisters: LaVerne Sheppard, Opal Moore, and Nellie Gartman all of Florida; one brother: Ralph Cheatwood, Florida; 15 grandchildren: Kristie and Randy Henderson, April and Dwayne Kight, Mat Dyals, April Higginbotham, Mandy Higginbotham, Julia Higginbotham, Arthur and Ashley Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Ashley and Troy McDaniel, Marie McClaine, Tonya and Jimmy Stalvey, Jason and Jodi Vaugnh, Aaron and Katie Vaughn, Brandon Singletary and Emma Hendley; 24 great grandchildren and several other relatives.

Services for Mr. Cheatwood will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the North Cemetery.

Visitation will be held this evening, Feb. 12, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Roundtree Funeral Home.
