VALDOSTA —
William Gary “Bill” Bailey, 79, of Nashville, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Brooks County to the late Seaborn Edward Bailey and the late Inez Dampier. He was a retired Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, served in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hughes Bailey of Nashville; daughter, Tammy Nelson of Tifton; two sons, Gary Bailey of Tifton and Larry Bailey of Holliday, Fla.; four sisters, Edna LaVann Story of Waycross, Donna Shiver of Tifton, Mary Mixon of Manor, and Barbara Moore of Manor; four brothers, Johnny Bailey of Waycross, Aaron Wesley Bailey of Waynesville, Ronald Bailey of Boaz, Ala., and Bruce Bailey of Waycross; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with full military honors.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
