Richard Edmond Moore

VALDOSTA — Richard Edmond Moore, 49, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Richard was a beloved and faithful son, brother, father, husband and friend. He was born and raised in South Lowndes County where he developed his deep appreciation for a simple life spent with family and friends who meant so much to him. Richard, as a young man, discovered he had a desire and talent to build using his gentle but strong hands. He fulfilled his dream of having his own business as his parents before him. Richard had a servant’s heart, always willing to help those he could. Richard was born on Oct. 9, 1963, to the late Ralph Cleveland Sr. and Gay Margarette Dollar Moore and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta.

Survivors include his daughter, Krissy Lynn Kinsey of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Margarette and Pat Kelley of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, Cleve and Gina Moore of Lake Park; sister, Katherine Moore of Valdosta; his nieces and nephews, Patrick Kelley, Joseph Kelley, Michael Kelley, Andrew Moore, Ellen Marion, Emilee Moore; great-nephew, Brad Marion; great-niece, Kaitlyn Marion.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends  from 6-8 p.m. today at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pearlman Cancer Center, PO Box 1727, Valdosta, GA 31603-1727.
