Elsie C. Branch, 94, of Lakeland, Ga. passed away late Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Branch was born on May 2, 1918 to the late Thomas C. and Lucretia (Tomlinson) Conine of Clinch County. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernie Etheridge, her sons Charles E Branch and Wiley E Branch, son-in-law Benny Clement, her three brothers and three sisters. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lakeland and the owner and operator for many years of Branch’s Store.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-Law Cretia Clement of Douglas, Ga., and Jayne Allen (Ronald) of Valdosta, Ga.; Daughter-in-Law Hazel R. Branch of Lakeland, Ga.; Seven grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a number of Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug.18, 2012 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
