VALDOSTA —
Eric Jerome Mixon, 52, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 30, 1960 in Hinesville to the late William H. (Bill) and Edna Herring Mixon and had lived in Valdosta most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Mixon of Valdosta; his son and daughter-in-law, Eric Matthew and Crystal Mixon of Valdosta; his daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Shannon Stephens of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Holly Mixon, Melissa Mixon, Christian Stephens, Carly Stephens, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chris and Carolyn Mixon of Valdosta, Grady and Joyce Mixon of Fargo.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan McNew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 in the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel, 3119 W. Marion Avenue, Lake Park, GA 31636 with Brother Michael Royals officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
