Services for Juanita Garland of Valdosta will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 2012 at the Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home Chapel. Elder James Knolton, Sr. Pastor and officiating services with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mrs. Garland was born on September 28, 1930 to the late Earnesto and Lula Mae Smith in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a resident of Thomasville where she would be married to Mr. Thomas Garland, Sr. before she moved to the Valdosta 35 years ago where she would later reside at the Ashley House.
She would work as a loving and devoted housewife until the time of her departure from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Survivors to cherish her memory include her daughter Frances Garland Williams (Curtis) of Valdosta; son Thomas Garland, Jr. of Valdosta; daughter Waleen Garland Linton (Brian) of Valdosta; sons Otis Garland (Jeanette) and Earnest Garland (Barbara) both of Valdosta; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at 1606 Madison Height Dr. in Valdosta. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
