Ronald Joe “Ronnie” Stone, 59 of Lakeland, Ga. passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Atkinson County, Ga. He was born Nov., 12, 1952 in Atkinson County, Ga. to the late William Henry Stone and Lillian (Youngblood) Stone. He was in construction as a stucco and plaster builder by trade. He was a member of the Lakeland Church of Christ in Lakeland, Ga.. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as brothers Joliene Stone and Alvin Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Dent Stone, Lakeland, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Angie Purvis, Pearson, Regena Dent and Dequario Thomas, Lakeland; son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Christie Dent, Lakeland, Byron and Angie Dent, Lake Park; sister, Donna and Winston Spikes, Ocilla; brothers, Eddie and Minnie Stone, Pearson, Bobby and Letha Stone, Pearson, W.H. Stone, Willacoochee; nine grandchildren; special nephews, Michael Stone and Ricky Stone; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday April, 15, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the Lakeland Church of Christ with Bro. David Abbot. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lakeland. The family will receive friends today, April 14, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
