Mae Watson Singletary, of Lakeland, Ga., passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 1, 2012 in the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness. She was born May 4, 1912 in Berrien County, Ga. to the late Mose C. and Rhoda Smith Watson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was retired from Levi Strauss Co. and Lakeland Jewelery. Along with her Parents she is preceded in death by a Husband Caulie Singletary, son and daughter-in-law Buddy and Bonnie Singletary, son-in-law Albert Davis, three Sisters Otis Kirkland, Nora Guthrie, and Loys Singletary.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Davis, of Lake Park, Ga.; three grandchildren, Belinda Frush, Tammy Touchton, and Michael Singletary; five great-grandchildren, Charlie Frush, Tyler Frush, Corey Frush, and Bailey Haley Touchton; step-grandchild Skylar Brown; special friend Joe Smith, of Valdosta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Lakeland, Ga. with burial to follow in Guthrie Cemetery in Berrien County, Ga. The family will receive friends at the church 11 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the First Baptist Church in Lakeland Pleasant Way Baptist Church, or the Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center.
