Jack Allen Watkins, 56 of Valdosta passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Gainesville, Fla. He was born on Nov. 3, 1956 in Lowndes County, Ga. Mr. Watkins was a member of the Redland Baptist Church. He worked as a millwright with Carpenter & Millwrights Union. His greatest love was working on the family farm. While not working, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and watching NHRA Drag Racing.
His survivors include his wife, Michelle Watkins of Valdosta; two daughters, Meshalle Limb of Colo.; Susan Opp of Colo.; son: Billy Jack Watkins of Colo.; three grandchildren; father and step-mother: Billy Jack and Elvy Watkins of Valdosta; mother: Louise Watkins of Valdosta; sister: Kim Lindsey of Amelia Island, Fla.; brother: Davie Watkins, of Valdosta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at the Redland Baptist Church in Lowndes County with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. No formal visitation will be held.
