VALDOSTA —
Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Sanders, 58, of Orlando, Fla., passed away at his residence Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was born Dec. 15, 1954, in Hahira, Ga., to the late James E. and Eva Nell Coppage Sanders. Jeff graduated from Cook High School in 1973. He was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Georgia from 1973 to 1977. He was an active member in the Central Florida Bulldog Club. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for eight years and obtained the rank of Captain. Jeff owned Freedom Financial Insurance Co. in Orlando, Fla.
Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Malayny; and brother, Jerry Sanders.
He is survived by his children, Rose Marie, Sara, and Jackson Sanders, all of Orlando, Fla.; his brother, Jimmy (Kim) Sanders of Greensboro, Ga.; and his sister, Susan (Ben) Wood of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2239 Hutchinson Pond Road, Hahira, Ga. The Rev. Ike Jefferson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 202 N. Hutchinson Ave., Adel, Ga. A reception and celebration of life will be held Saturday at The Circle Stone Country Club following the funeral service.
