Alice Mae (Holden) Hollis

Alice Mae (Holden) Hollis was born August 15, 1953 to the Late William Robert Holden, Sr. and Sarah (Maxwell) Holden.  She was the fourth of five children.

In in her middle age, Alice M. Hollis joined the Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the capacity of president of the Home Coming Meal Committee, Women Ministry and Adult Choir member.

Sister Alice M. Hollis was educated in the Brooks County School sytem.  She was employed by Brooks County Hospital for over 42 years.  She retired in December 2012.

On October 16, 1971, Alice M. Holden was married in Holy matrimony to the Late Ronald Hollis, who passed away in March of 2002.  To this union, three daughters were born.

On February 20, 2013, Sister Alice M. Hollis was called Home by our Lord and Savior.  Her memories will be forever remembered by her children: Tangela (Robert) Wallace, Regina (Robert) Dixon, Tamika Hollis (Shamel); a loving step-son, Cedric Hollis; eight grandchildren:  Leon Thomas, Jr., Shanique Wallace, Lanique Thomas, Ra’Tazha Wallace, Za’Brianna Fountain, Monica Wallace, Rontaria Frazier and I’Keira Williams; one great grand-daughter, Ka’Lani Daniels; two sisters:  Minerva Golden (Frank), Virgie Hill; two brothers: William Robert Holden, Jr. (Jean) and Ellis Holden (Yvonne); three brothers-in-law and nine sisters-in-law; a very special sister-in-law, Sheree Everett; a very special nephew, Jeffrey Holden (Emma) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, GA with Rev. James Huewitt, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Simmon Hill Church Cemetery.  — Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home in Quitman, Ga.
