Lillie Rose Christian, 67, was born March 14, 1945 to the late Theodore, Sr. and Ruby Christian in Brooks County, Georgia. She departed this life on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. She was a faithful member of The Pinetree Boulevard Church of Christ in Thomasville, Georgia under the leadership of Brother Rob Sparks. Sister Christian was employed by the Swanee Swifty Stores Companies for years. Sister Christian was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Diamond, Theodore Jr. and Tom Jack Christian; two sisters, Marie James and Mildred Ashley; and one special friend, Mr. R. B. Simmons.
She leaves to cherish her memories; one loving son, Alfie Andre Christian, Quitman, Georgia; two God sons, Jim McGhee, Sr. and Willie Charles Clemons, Quitman, GA; three God daughters, Mattie Hadley, Mattie Neloms and Rosalyn Head, Quitman, GA; her siblings, Hannah Reen King (T.L.), New Ellenton, SC, Dorothy Wolf (Joe), Quitman, GA, Mable Robinson (Ervin), Dixie, GA, Jimmy Christian (Sallie), Pavo, GA, Walter Christian (Linda), Quitman, GA, one sister-in-law, Dura Lee Christian, Ocala, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the Courtland Avenue Church of Christ in Quitman, with Bro. Bryan Watson and Bro. Christopher Jackson presiding and Bro. Rob Sparks officiating the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Old Beulah Hill Cemetery in Quitman. Public viewing and visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home in Quitman. — Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.
