Mrs. Karen Cowart Redding, 53, of Adel, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at her home. She was born Jan. 27, 1959, in Adel to the late Bennie “Ben” Howard Cowart and Vivian Laura McClellan Cowart. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, served as the service coordinator for “Babies Can’t Wait” and has lived in Cook County all of her life.
Mrs. Redding is survived by her husband, Michael L. “Mike” Redding of Adel; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matt and Kala Bennett, and Mitchell Bennett, all of Adel; one daughter, Emily Bennett of Adel; one step-son, JonMichael Redding of Hahira; two grandchildren, Emmylou Bennett and Maggie Hathcock, both of Adel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Betty Redding of Valdosta; and a brother-in-law, Ken Redding of Valdosta. A host of aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Redding will take place Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Dickerson and Elder Clark Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Empire Church Cemetery in Lanier County. The family will receive friends Monday evening, Aug. 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 South Hutchinson Avenue, in Adel.
