James “Connie” Fender, 69, of Statenville, Ga. passed away Friday evening Nov. 9, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born in Lanier County, Ga. on May 30, 1943 to the late Clifford & Dorothy (Westberry) Fender. He was a retired Meat Cutter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Vonda Fender.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Catherine & Brad Miller of Wellington, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, James & Janet Fender of Wellington, Fla.; son, Michael Fender of Lake Worth, Fla.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Peggy Commander of Statenville, Ga., Omajean Strickland of Statenville, Ga. and Ann Walker of Lake Park, Ga.; brother, Rabon Fender of Statenville, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Alton & Brenda Fender of Fruitland, Ga.; a number of nieces and nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Music Funeral Services in Valdosta, GA. Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday Nov. 11, 2012 at the funeral home in Valdosta, Ga. from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated after the service.
