Rebecca Peters Patterson, 89 of Atlanta, Ga. passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born on Sept. 1, 1923 in Valdosta to the late Homer Lee and Clydie (Green) Peters. Mrs. Patterson was of the Baptist faith. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd “Pat” Patterson, by a son, Patrick L. Patterson, and by a grandchild, Kelly Rebecca Patterson.
She is survived by her daughter, Dixie Tempel of Atlanta; son and daughter-in-law, Tim (Kay) Patterson, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Ben Tempel (Christina), Lindsay Temple Sullivan (Greg), Tyler Patterson, Erin Patterson, Curtis Patterson, Cristin Patterson, Sarah Patterson, Breanna Patterson, Karisa Patterson; great grandchild, William Patrick Tempel; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Hight, Brunswick, Ga., Lawanna and Donald Roberson, Valdosta,; nephews and niece, Rodney Hight, Roland Hight (Mary), Donnie Roberson, Christi Roberson Allen (Jody); daughter-in-law, Dianna Patterson, St. Augustine, Fla.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 in Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 216 E. Park Ave. Lake Placid, FL. 33852
