Nellie Frank Moore Smart

VALDOSTA — Nellie Frank Moore Smart, 75, of Quitman, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Presbyterian Home with loving family members by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Smart was born Aug. 27, 1937, in Pavo, Ga., to Ernest Alton and Evie Lee Thompson Moore. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Smart was employed by the U.S. Government at Moody AFB. She was a member of Okapilco Baptist Church where she served in various roles from childhood.

Mrs. Smart is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, retired USAF MSGT Charles L. Smart; her loving family members and their families, nephew, George A. Faucette of Quitman, his daughter, Lisa Johnson of Lexington, Ky.; nephew, Jeffrey M. Faucette (Renita) of Quitman; niece, Evanne L. (Dwayne) Kennedy of Quitman; nephew, Terry F. (Cindy) Faucette of Valdosta. Also surviving are seven great- nephews and nieces, Ashley (Matt) Williams, Jenna Kennedy, Kelli Kennedy, Chad Faucette, Garrett Faucette, Gavin Faucette, Gage Faucette; and three great-great-nieces and nephews, Kristin Rankin, Conner Johnson, and Dawson Matthew Williams.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Louise Faucette.

Graveside services will be held today, March 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Okapilco Church Cemetery with Dr. Paul Mims and the Rev. Arnold Hodum officiating. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.maxwellmillerfuneralhome.com. — Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
