Mr. Pittman worked for a number of years for the Lowndes County School System both as a bus driver and in maintenance. In the late 60’s, Clifford started work for Carson McLane Funeral Home where he worked for over 35 years. Mr. Pittman was a member of Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his step daughter and step son-in-law, Ann and Jerry Bennett of Valdosta; a step daughter-in-law, Diane Callahan of Echols County; three granddaughters and their husbands, Missy and Bobby Bennett of Valdosta, Kristy and Jason Black of Dasher, and Brandi and Jamie DeLoach of Lake Park; nine great grandchildren, Brooks Bennett, Sutherlin Bennett and Briggs Bennett, Kyra Callahan, Jaci Black, Karsyn Black, Braylon Black, Kayden DeLoach and Konnor DeLoach. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sapp Pittman, step son, Jerry Callahan, two sisters, Elon Burns and Elerleen Heard; and two brothers, Carroll Pittman and Jay Pittman. The family is also very grateful for the care Clifford received at Fellowship Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Pittman will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at the Cat Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Bob Dickerson and Elder Jim Sandlin will officiate.
