Rusty McCallum, 50, of Lake Park, passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Lowndes County, Ga. on July 18, 1962 to the late John W. McCallum and Martha J. “Mama Jo” Zipperer of Lake Park, Ga. Mr. McCallum loved to fish and spend time with family and friends. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Billy Zipperer.
Survivors include wife, Jennifer McCallum of Lake Park, Ga.; daughter, Renee Given of Lake Park, Ga.; three sons & daughter-in-Law, Danny McCallum of Lake Park, Ga., Ricky Wood (Ann Brunot) of Lake Park, Ga., Randy & Cindy Zipperer of Lake Park, Ga.; granddaughter, Lindsey Given of Lake Park, Ga.; sister, Teresa M. Carwein of Lake Park, Ga.; two brothers, Wesley McCallum of Lake Park, Ga., Jeff Zipperer of Clyattville, Ga.; special friend, Buck Hawthorne of Clyattville, Ga.; and many other close friends, nieces, and nephews; close companions, Patches, Cheyenne & Thumper.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial to follow at Lake Park Cemetery in Lowndes County. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 3525 Piedmont Road, Northeast Building 6, Suite 300, Atlanta, Ga. 30305.
