VALDOSTA —
Mr. Johnny Dwain Weldon, 68, of Adel, Ga., passed away Tuesday Nov. 27, 2012 at Cook Medical Center. He was born in Cook County on Aug. 2, 1944 to the late Earl Grey Weldon, Sr. and Myrtle Luranie Johnson Weldon. He lived most of his life in Norfolk, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida and the past 30 years in Cook County. Mr. Weldon was of the Methodist Faith and a retired Financial Director for the Brooks County Board of Education. He was also retired from the United States Navy where he served during the Vietnam Conflict.
Mr. Weldon is survived by his two sons, Barry Dean Weldon and John Paul Weldon, both of Adel; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom Darryl and Brenda Weldon of Hahira; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Dave Lavigne of Vine Grove, Ky., and Martha and David Sutton of Athens, Ga.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Shirley Revill of Shalimar, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weldon is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Joyce Revill Weldon; a brother, Earl G. Weldon, Jr.; and a sister, Wynell Zinger.
Mr. Weldon's family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 1-2:00 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 South Hutchinson Avenue, in Adel. Funeral services for Mr. Weldon will take place immediately following the visitation on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Church Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented.
