VALDOSTA —
Sara Frances Hathcock, 86, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at her home. She was born on Feb. 13, 1926 in Hazlehurst to the late Claude, Sr. and Mattie Kight McCrary and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Hathcock was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and retired from Civil Service.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Debbie Stailey of Valdosta; her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Donnie Holcomb of Quitman; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Pollard Hathcock and Janice Hathcock of Gulport, Miss.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elouise McCrary of Brunswick; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Hathcock; one brother, Claude McCrary, Jr.; and one sister, Robbie Hendley.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Wisehart and Pastor Gene Wisehart officiating. Entombment will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
