Frankie Terrell Howell

VALDOSTA — Frankie Terrell Howell, age 98, life-long resident of Mayday, died on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at her home. Born on May 24, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Jackson Terrell and Beadie Melissa McMillan Terrell. Mrs. Howell was very proud of her Native American heritage on her father‚s side of the family. She was called “White Fawn” by her Native American friends. She was a wife, mother and homemaker who influenced numerous lives; especially her children who honored and loved her deeply. An avid photographer; she loved her flowers; she loved traveling with family and had visited most all the states and several countries in Europe and she enjoyed watching “Andy Griffith” and became a big fan of TV game shows such as The Price is Right, Jeopardy, and Family Feud in her later years. Mrs. Howell had been a faithful member of Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Survivors are her children and their spouses, Donna Linda and Don Studstill of Mayday, David Bobby and Montez Howell of Mayday, Walter Lamar and Brenda Nash Howell of Valdosta, Donald Lindy Howell of Mayday; daughter in law, Susie Howell of Mayday; thirteen grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Howell, a son, Ollie Franklin Howell, a daughter, Beadie Irene Howell, grandson, Lee Earl Smith, great grandson, Brandon Robert Weaver; sisters, Bessie Smith and Maggie Tomlinson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until service time. Elder Dwight Marshall, Reverend Wayne Boykin and Elder Linwood Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home today, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home
