William Kenneth Jackson

VALDOSTA — William Kenneth Jackson, 75, of Clyattville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Langdale Hospice House.

He was born Aug. 31, 1937 in Lowndes County, a son of the late W.B. and Mattie Peace Jackson, and had honorably served in the U.S. Navy. For many years he was a local Insurance Agent with United Insurance Co. of America.  Mr. Jackson was a member of Benevolence Baptist Church.  

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ratliff Jackson of Clyattville; three sons, Mark Jackson, Neal Jackson and Stacy Jackson, all of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Blake and wife Jayla Jackson, Drew Jackson and Kyle Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Paityn Jackson; two brothers, Wade and wife Laverne Jackson and Tim and wife Susan Jackson; one sister, Bonita and husband Ranell Cotton, all of Valdosta; his wife’s children, Judy and David Kirkland and their children, Kyler, Travis, Dalan and Carlie Kirkland, and G.C. and Nicole Ratliff and their children, Hayley and Granger Cole Ratliff; two sisters-in-law, Mary Copeland and Almarene Dawkins, both of Valdosta; and three brothers-in-law, Jake and Bashie Copeland of Valdosta, Robert and Joyce Copeland of Valdosta, and Carlton and Linda Copeland of Alachua, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Jackson, and two sisters, Faye Parker Brantley and Emily Jackson Cannon.

Graveside service for Mr. Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, in Redland Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. David Paulk officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
