VALDOSTA —
Elvenia Tillman Griffin, 76, of Adel, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Colquitt County to the late Carlie L. and Ethel T. Tillman. She was a member at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt County and had retired from Riverside Manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Griffin; her daughter, Lisa Schofill, both of Adel; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Elnita and David Ginn of Valdosta, Jami and Wayne Ade of Adel; one brother, Carl Tillman; two sisters, Margie Keith and Eunice Hall, all of Moultrie; her grandchildren are Freelon and Jennifer Gay of Nashville, Ga.; Wesley Gelatt of Macon; Kalita and Jeremy Edwards of Homerville; Brian and Danielle Gibbs of Lakeland, Ga.; Brianna Ginn of Valdosta; Sharrod and Amber Fulghum, Kyle and Brittany Fulghum, Garrett Ade, Colby Ade, all of Adel; Mandy and Jody Ledford of Thomasville; Ryan and Jessica Schofill of Moultrie; Crystal Schofill of Adel; Donna and Alan Dixon of Key West, Fla.; Michelle and Michael Petty of Naylor; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Hansel Tillman; and one sister, Ruby Moore.
A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., Adel.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at China Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt County with the Rev. Jimmy Hiers and the Rev. James Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. — Boone Funeral Home, Adel
