Sarah “Louise” Lindsey Holley

-- — Sarah “Louise” Lindsey Holley, 79, of Tifton died Sunday, August 19, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Salone Green will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Chris Beckham, Don Holley, Kyle Dean, Jason Bishoff, Ronnie Dunn and Ed Lawson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Holley was born on March 6, 1933 in Thomaston and was the daughter of Carlton Eugene Lindsey and Belle Hayes Lindsey, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Gene “Po-Boy” Holley; one son, Robert Carlton Holley; and one sister, Julianne Thaxton. She had worked at WWGS and retired last year from WTIF and attended Carpenter Road Church. She was involved with her husband in the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. She was very dedicated to her job at the radio stations, which she basically held her entire working life.  She was also very devoted to her husband and family.

Mrs. Holley is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gene and Nancy Holley of Tifton, Jerry Holley of Covington and Carl and Elizabeth Holley of Valdosta; and five grandchildren, Brandon Holley, Alexis Holley, Carter Holley, Jared Holley and Ben Holley.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Tiftarea Humane Society, 278 GA Highway 125 South, Tifton, GA 31794.
