VALDOSTA —
Leonard Frank Martin, 67, of Adel, Ga. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012. He was born on Oct. 23, 1945 in Adel, Ga. to the late Samuel Leon Martin and Fannie Cleon Touchton Martin. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army and in the Vietnam conflict. He also worked for the City of Adel as an electrician until his retirement.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Hellen Griffis Martin of Adel, Ga.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan Evan and Lyn Faircloth Martin of Adel, Ga., Chris Allen Martin and Lynda Dalton Martin of Fayetteville, Ga., and Douglas Shane Martin of Tallahassee, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Luke Martin, Lyndsay Martin, Lance Martin, Lily Martin and Drew Martin. Mr. Martin is also survived by three brothers, Jerry “Jake” Martin, Bill Martin, both of Adel, Georgia, and Sidney “Mickey” Martin of Tifton, Ga.; and one sister, Betty Martin Nolan of Adel, Ga.
In addition to his parents Mr. Martin was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel “Lamar” Martin and Delmas “Larine” Martin; two sisters, Thelma Martin Gray and Mary Martin Bennett.
The Martin family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 South Hutchinson Avenue, Adel, Ga. Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Springhead Baptist Church with the Rev. Brantley Seymore and the Rev. Ashley Way officiating.
